The Challenge
With the onset of Covid-19, educational institutions all over the world have been affected. The pandemic has both surfaced new needs and exposed the brokenness of our existing system. While some institutions have made a shift in their instructional mediums to continue to function online, this has not been the case for every learner. Various barriers have made education less reachable to students in low socioeconomic status.
A lot of educators are facing difficulties adapting to this sudden change which has the potential to dramatically shift systems within the education system. We aim to better our understanding of these new and existing challenges to eventually design solutions that can positively impact educators.
The Systems Thinking Approach
We started by mapping the ecosystem of the current learning system based on our desk research and visualize the nuances and interconnections of the stakeholders, flows, and relationships.

Impact of COVID-19
After understanding the nuances of life and culture of the user segment, we started forming key insights and defined the emerging themes, iceberg model, and forming the How Might We's.
